In general, we ask that you:

1> Stay on topic within reason

2>Don't flame each other, the mud, or this board (This obviously includes our staff)
Basically, you don't have to like everyone here, but be respectful to them regardless

3> Do not post anything illegal or offensive.
This includes anything that you do not have rights to post or that is discriminatory or otherwise disrespectful

4> Avoid foul language
The humor sections of these forums may have adult humor and language, but the rest of the forums are expected to remain kid friendly, like the mud

5> Visit often and post frequently ;)
Seriously, this will be a much better place to visit if you help it become such by posting regularly

Now, as far as guidelines, each forum should have a mini description, if not an initial post, explaining it's intended purpose and any specific rules or topic information, please abide by them.

If the above is too much to ask, don't post here. These rules are very simple and will be enforced. Your posts are not subject to preapproval, in most cases, but may be moderated as needed. Try to police yourself so we don't have to.

Additionally, please be aware that:

1> this game is based on fantasy. Events in-game are not real. Every part of this game is based entirely in a fictional world that Conner has created and around fictional characters which we've all created (including our players), any resemblence to any person, place, or thing in real life is purely coincedental.

2> while we do not intentionally collect any personal information from anyone in this game or these forums, email addresses and personal instant messenger contact information along with dates of birth and so forth are stored by the system if you choose to submit them, therefore we do not knowingly accept any members who are under the age of 13 here.

3> The term "immortal" is used to refer to anyone who is a staff member here, not actual gods/deities. For those who would know which immortals rank above which, the most obvious answer is to use the command wizlist, but to know what ranks exist amongst the immortals in regard to other help topics that say such things as 'all decisions by Gods and above are final' one must have a list such as the following:

Only Conner carries the rank/title of "Supreme Entity" and this is not an indication that he believes he is a god only that he is the primary owner/administrator and head coder for this game and thus holds the highest level. These ranks were created by the original developers of Smaug, not Conner. Dragona is the only person who carries the rank/title of "Infinite One" and this is because she is the only co-owner of the mud and its associated web sites/forums as well as the head builder for Land of Legends. Again, these are not an indication that any of us who are staff level members here believe in any way that we are gods in real life, merely that we have roles to perform in-game and additional "powers" and responsibilities to the game than regular "mortals" (players) here.
